To build a relevant bridge between a church and a community of the church
"Your worst day with God will be better than your best day without Him"
"Your worst day with God will be better than your best day without Him" - this truth touched me recently. I'm so thankful to the Lord for each new day with Him! So here we are - the first month of our Sport Community "Sport Kids" is over. We have two age groups - 3-6 and 7-12 years old. The kids grow in their soccer skills, social skills and also in what they find out about God and how He wants them to play soccer in the team ;-) Thank you for your prayers!
Please keep praying for a smooth transition to another facilities during the cold season, for God would continue to work in the kids and the parents, for possibility to do soccer fields near the church and at the parking of it, for the love among us as Christ's disciples. Thank you for your prayers and support!
"Few years ago he attended soccer practices of another club and he used to get back from them with his head down, he was called a looser and a jerk there and so on,'
- Nikita's mom told us (on the photos he is in the middle in the orange top under the jersey), - "and now he comes back from his school tired and i suggest to him not to go to the practice then and he answers that "no, mom, i don't wanna miss it, there are so many things we do there and i like the coaches", and then he runs to the free of charge public bus to get to the soccer field", - Nikita's mom continued to share. These kind of feedbacks actually lift up, they are a joy from the Lord and the answer to the prayers. Nikita is 11 years old, his mom is a believer but his dad is not and, unfortunately, has to be in another country now. Nikitoss (it's how i call him) is not interested in God's Word but it's just yet :) There's a possibility to influence Nikitoss and the boys alike him in a way that through the devotion part of the Sport Community to sow the seeds of love toward Bible and God showing in practice the biblical approach for a soccer game in a team etc.
"Well, you are not gonna teach anything bad here?", -
Philip's mother asked (on the photo he is next to his mom in a blue stripes coat) after we talked for awhile during the tournament between "Sport Kids" and the teams of our friends from Ukrainian Christian Sports Academy near Kiev. It turned out that Philip and his mom found out about us through the flyers/invitations to Sport Kids we had given out in the church's neighbourhood. On the day of the tournament we arranged the trasnportation for the kids and their parents who participated in the tournament. All met in the church's building. For Natalia it was the first time she was in the protestant church. "Well, i don't really know about it much, I'm kind of far from all of this, and i'm an Orthodox", - Natalia explained when I asked her reaction about that we are believers and arrange tournaments with our believers friends. And then she asked: "Well, you are not gonna teach anything bad here, right?" To which she received the answer with the smile: "Well, of course, not, even vice versa... "We have such type of parents whose kids attend our Sport Kids club, for example, the mom of the boy (4 years old) called Artem who found us through Facebook. Please pray for such parents and for their kids so that the Lord would work with their hearts and would open them for the Christ's Spirit, so that Sport Kids Community would be a real "bridge" for them they would be able to pass over to come to Christ!
We re in the process of "building our field (-s)" at the parking lot of the church, we want to continue/to start our winter season of Sport Community (Sport Kids) from coming Tuesday, Oct 9, please pray ;-)
I continue the season of practices with non-believers girls and older women (basketball veterans) and with the coach in the team "Tigress", please keep praying for good physical achievements and so that God would open "a person of peace" if it's His will ;-) My personal: Thanks be to the Lord for the life and for my team; for my sister (Ira), my brother (Valera) and for my nephew (Vova) - for their true repentance;
for the right man from God for me to serve together if it's His will and if it's His will for me to stay and serve Him as single, that i would live with it easily (such a special prayer request ;-) Thank you for your prayers and support! i'm looking foward to your news again or from those who didn't yet shared and i pray as well for you ;-) With love in Christ, Anya
