Hello everyone!
How are you? What's new in your life ? Who or what has influenced you lately?
Since my last update letter, God has been giving me the opportunity to be influential as a coach and also as a mentor and teacher in discipleship. And this affects me too. That is, it's like a "cycle of things in nature" :-) Here are the most important moments from the latest period of time and prayer requests:
Basketball practices for girls / Partnership with the Basketball Academy "Admirals"
I have already mentioned about the basketball academy Admirals earlier. It was founded in Moldova in honor of the famous American basketball player David Robinson, who had a nickname during his career - Admiral.

In Ukraine, a branch of this Academy was founded 2 years ago in the city near Kiev, where I live, Vyshneve. It was founded by a former player of the Ukrainian national team and a well-known professional in his field, Leonid Stefanishin. He and his family turned out to be my neighbors in Vyshneve :) Now in the academy there's also another coach - Evgeny Pogorelov, a coach from Moldova, who came to God through the "Admirals" there, married a Ukrainian girl and is also now my neighbor in Vyshneve :)
As you know, in November God blessed me to pass the exam and to get a basketball coach license from the Federation of Basketball of Ukraine. And so, as a partnership of Athletes in Action with "Admirals", I began to coach girls near Vishneve sports school (7-9 years old), for that I am very grateful to God.
The photo shows the birthday of the Admirals academy in Ukraine, and the two head coaches, as well as the first practices with the girls.
Prayer Request:
- blessings for the practices - so that they would be possible due to the weather and due to the facilitated quarantine measures;
- so that the girls could easily come to the court inVyshneve and to learn the basics of basketball;
- so that I grow up as a coach and in my influence for the girls, and so that i could build bridges with their parents.
"Open doors (or hearts)" / tournament between our locations
We had an open day - guys from Zolotonosha and Cherkassy came (we couldn't gather more people and they couldn't come in a bigger amount), they learned from our experience in order to open their own clubs / sport ministries with God's help in their places. They arrived and they were so "on fire", they got it from us, and we got this feeling - to be "on fire" from them ;-) It was an event for 2 days. One day we held a community tournament between the locations of Sport Kids - Molodezhniy (Kiev region), Rechurch (Kiev / metro Zhitomirskaya) and kindergarten (Kiev / Zhitomirskaya metro station)
Thanks God we can continue practices for kids. But due to the conditions of quarantine / especially from April 5 to April 30 (instability) in Kiev, we have to cancel some plans, for example, an evangelistic seminar for parents on raising children. It is easier at Molodezhniy location - this is the Kiev region, but in Kiev - many children are sick or cannot come (transport only works with special passes), or do not want to risk it.
Prayer Request:
- so that the Lord continues to protect us in the team from any strong form of viruses to get sick, as well as our children and parents of Sport Kids;
- to bless to have evangelistic events for Sport Kids in May and to open the hearts of parents to the desire to build their lives with Christ;
- to bless us with football and basketball coaches who would fearfully serve Him.
Meeting with moms of Sport Kids - Bible Principles for Marriage / Bible Study
Remember when I told about Sveta? Please continue to pray for her. God made it possible to have meetings during the lockdown, since she works in a shopping mall, but it is closed now, and her schedule was difficult, and now it allows to meet) Sveta is open to studying the Bible, which I lead with my disciple Inessa (you also remember her ), but it is difficult for her to practice biblical truth, because of her unbelieving husband at home.
Tatyana also came to us (on the photo she is with the kitten). I told her Gospel during the tournament last year. She was very open and asked many questions, and talked about herself, about faith, about the fact that she had already accepted Christ as a child. But her husband does not believe in churches, considering that everything there is tied to finances and so on. I continued to keep in touch with Tatiana. And her husband always brings 2 sons to trainings, one of them is making great progress. Our coaches communicate with him But with Tatiana it turned out she came to the Bible study once, where I shared about the role of a husband, a wife according to the Bible. And then she got a bit alienated.
Prayer Request:
- for the hearts of Sveta (her husband Andrey) and Tatyana (her husband Victor) - so that they are open to studying the Bible further, so that these meetings would be possible in their schedule and without quarantine measures, so that they accept Christ truly in their lives, come to His church and built their marriages according to His principles;
- for our mentorship and discipleship with Inessa.
There was also an international zoom conference hosted by Athletes in Action USA on influential leadership. Every day, different coaches from all sports from different parts of the world gathered in zoom to talk about topics such as "Be a transformational leader, not a transactional leader", "Motivation in coaching / ministry", "Success", etc. It was a good time. It is a pity that it was not live, but the Lord has everything under control.
We continue our team meetings, calls in zoom / study of the team book (for example, now this is the book of the famous basketball coach John Wooden "The Pyramid of Success of Coach Wooden"), mentorship lessons with Julia, discipleship lessons with Inessa, prayer calls of coordinators of ministries of Cru mission, financial reports and administration responcibilities, etc.
Please pray for a physical strength in the ministry, for the possibility of a good vacation in July, please continue to pray for my relatives (Ira, Vova, Valera), for the action of the Holy Spirit in their hearts and for their choice of Christ. And also - so that the Father would bless me with a husband, and we could serve together.
