Covid and other hardships in our ministry but we'll overcome them by the power of Christ ;-)

 

How are you doing? How is the situation with Covid over there? 
Here we hear more and more cases and now it's not just some people who get this virus but it's my close friends and some parents and their kids in our Sport Kids community who are isolated. 
Thank you for your faithfulness to my and our ministry through prayers and giving! Together we'll overcome these things by the power of Christ!

For now our branch location - kindergarden 599 is closed because of the coronavirus - and the kids from there come to practice at our ReChurch location. On one hand - this is a good opportunity for the parents to get to know what the church is. On the other hand our fields schedule is pretty packed because of every day busyness.
Please pray the Lord would continue to keep our Sport Kids children and parents safe from coronavirus under the conditions of the increasing cases of this virus throughout Ukraine. 
Please pray the Lord would bring us through this tough time in collaboration with the ReChurch. And would continue to bless all the trainings, the tournaments and the spiritual conversations with the parents at all our locations. Thank you!

Sharing Gospel with our oldest group through the short movie called "Bridge" which is a great tool as one of our Cru materials how to evangelise. Please pray for the hearts of these teenagers so that what they heard that God sacrificed His Own Son for them would bring them to commit their lives to the Only One. 

Please pray for Sveta (dark long hair on the right from me) Sveta came with her son Kiril to our Sport Kids club through Masha (remember the mom of 5 children?). I shared Gospel with Sveta few weeks ago, she said she was not ready for that responsibility to commit her life to God. She is very open and when i see her, we talk a lot. Please pray the Lord would lead our relationships to study Bible and to be friends. 

Please pray for Inessa - our volunteer and my disciple!
Inessa joined our ministry as she married Dima Melnik, a member of our staff team, in May this year.  Inessa has organised a café in the ReChurch where we coach kids (she bakes desserts and makes coffee herself with our volunteer Luba).  I have trained her in sharing Gospel through the Four Spiritual Laws.  Seeing parents bring their kids to the church for our training sessions and being able to talk with them in this café encourages Inessa greatly.  Few weeks ago she was able to share with two parents the truth about God’s love, our sin and the hope we have in Christ.
Please pray for Inessa's health!  She had a nervous stroke couple weeks ago and her left arm and left leg don't move. As well as there are problems with her speech. She has nerves jammed in her body. She was in the hospital but now they are at home. Inessa goes through the rehabilitation, every physical exercise causes her terrible pain. She needs a complete restoration, full "recharge" of her body and a painless rehabilitation. Also if you'd like to help them financially for all the treatments, please let me know and I'll coordinate. Thank you for your prayers for this! (On the last photo I visited Inessa few days ago and our friend Zina who attended our sport community is a rehab specialist, who comes to help Inessa every day, praise God!). Please pray for Dima's patience and strength and for him to be able to get back to the ministry.
          

 

Helping to coach basketball with my friends from BC "Admirals" in Vyshneve
 Federation of Basketball of Ukraine - I got my basketball coach license! 
Plus One Basketball training
I continue to help my friends in Vyshneve where I live to coach basketball 8-10 years old kids in the school. Also sometimes I participate in the practices of the teenagers there. They are part of the basketball academy "Admirals" The founder of this academy's branch in Ukraine is a former professional basketball player, Leonid Stefanishin, who actually heard Gospel about 17 years ago through Athletes in Action.
Just two days ago through the project Plus One I told you about in my previous update there was a basketball training at which there were different coaches from different places of Ukraine. It was a blessed and encouraging time to hear the strategy of "Admirals' how to influence the kids and the youth in Vyshneve and bring them to Christ through basketball. 
Also God gave me the possibility to study online at the coaches training courses from Basketball Federation of Ukraine, to pass the exam and boom! I got the license now of the school basketball coach. This license in the combination of my teacher's master degree i had opens the doors of the public schools so I can influence as a coach. Remember the phrase of Bill Graham: "One coach will impact more young people in a year than the average person does in a lifetime."
Please pray the Lord would bless and guide how to build the partnership of Sport Kids and Admirals and to have a spiritual influence through basketball!
